The residents of Pub Sitara village in Rangia celebrated Bhogali Bihu in memory of their beloved artist, Zubin Garg. This is the first Bhogali Bihu without Zubin. The entire Assam is mourning the loss of their beloved artist. However, to preserve Assamese tradition and culture, Bhogali, a festival of joy, is being celebrated across the state even amid the mourning. Meanwhile, the residents of Pub Sitara village in Rangia celebrated Bhogali, a festival of enjoyment, remembering the beloved artist. Early in the morning, children, elders, and daughters-in-law gathered around the Meji to seek the blessings of the fire god. They prayed that the fire of the Meji would dispel all obstacles, evil, and diseases. Finally, various sports competitions, including Kani-Yunj (egg fight), were held near the Meji.
