Intense public protest in Juria demanding a judicial inquiry into a murder case.
More than two hundred people staged a protest demanding a judicial inquiry. According to the family of the deceased, a person named Alauddin called the victim out of his house over the phone. One to one-and-a-half hours after “Zeyabor” (the deceased) went out, locals heard screams. Upon rushing to the street, local residents found Zeyabor lying on the roadside in critical condition.
The family and locals together rushed the injured man to Nagaon Hospital. Although he was referred to Guwahati from Nagaon Hospital, he could not be saved. Despite reporting the incident to the administration, no action has been taken against the person named Alauddin.
