A massive burglary took place in Dergaon a day before Bhogali Bihu. The incident occurred in the Rajbahar village of Dergaon. Taking advantage of the empty house, thieves looted property worth more than 10 lakh rupees. Notably, the theft took place at the residence of two individuals named Dayanand Bora and Dipali Saikia Bora.
The thieves stole everything from gold jewelry, Paat (silk) clothes, and bronze utensils to sophisticated bathroom fittings. The homeowner, who had gone to Guwahati on Wednesday, was informed about the theft by a tenant living on the upper floor upon their return. Dergaon police reached the spot at night and have initiated an investigation.
According to information, the burglary occurred during the day on Wednesday, but it came to light at night. The property of common people is no longer safe in Dergaon. There is currently an atmosphere of tension in Dergaon regarding this incident.
