The human-elephant conflict continues in Kaliabor. Around 3:30 AM in Nam-Kamakhya village, wild elephants caused significant distress and damage. The elephants attacked the residence of Nayan Jyoti Sharma, breaking the main gate and damaging his ‘Namghar’ (prayer house). According to Sharma, the wild elephants also destroyed his shop and the windows of his house. The residents were unable to drive the elephants away. Forest officials arrived at the scene shortly after the incident. The locals have urged the forest department to take immediate measures to capture the elephants, provide necessary assistance, and prevent such incidents from recurring in the future.
