A burnt body was found in the Rekapahar area of Kaliabor. The remains were found amidst a fire in the dense, “tooth-like” forest bordering the road. While local police arrived at the scene immediately, the body was beyond recognition.During the investigation, police officials from Nagaon and Kaliabor reached the spot to begin a formal inquiry. At this stage, authorities are unable to determine if the deceased is male or female. Police suspect that someone from a distant location may have brought the body there to burn it.
According to local witnesses who frequent that path, they noticed the body while passing by and alleged that the victim had been decapitated before being set on fire. Residents stated they travel this route daily and have never witnessed such a gruesome incident before. They have urged the police to take strict legal action and expedite the investigation.
