A tragic incident occurred in Bhadali village, Kaliabor, during the night. A woman named Rana Bora (also identified as Meena Bora) was killed in an attack by a wild elephant in her own courtyard. Just a few days prior, the same elephant had also attacked a forest dweller. Despite the villagers’ efforts, they were unable to drive the elephant away. Following this, Forest Department officials held a meeting to address the situation.According to family members, they were busy with household chores at night when they heard dogs barking. Upon coming outside to investigate, they saw the elephant entering the premises. The woman was attacked by the elephant while she was attempting to flee. Their house was located near the Bharali Naamghar. Local residents are now appealing to the State Forest Minister, Chandramohan Patwari, to find an immediate solution to this issue and end the ongoing distress caused by such conflicts.
