Abhishek fell 13 runs short of Kohli’s record . India defeated South Africa by 30 runs in the final match , winning the five-match T20 series 3-1 . The fourth T20I had been abandoned due to fog. With Friday ‘ s victory , Team India secured their eighth consecutive T20I series win . India’s last T20I series defeat came against the West Indies in August . In December 2023 , India tied the series 1-1 against South Africa . India has won all subsequent series since then . Chasing India’s target of 232 in the match played in Ahmedabad , South Africa managed only 201 for 8 in 20 overs . Hardik Pandya’s half-century came in a safe 16 balls , becoming India ‘ s second – fastest T20I fifty . Abhishek Sharma also came very close to achieving a historic milestone . He fell just 13 runs short of Virat Kohli’s record for most T20 runs in a single year . During this period , India won 4-1 series against Zimbabwe , 2-0 against Sri Lanka , and 2-0 against Afghanistan .This was followed by a 3 – 0 clean sweep of Bangladesh , followed by a 3-1 win against South Africa . Hardik Pandya scored a half-century in just 16 balls , setting the second fastest fifty for India in T20 Internationals .Yuvraj Singh reached his half-century in 12 balls in the 2007 T20 World Cup match against England . He holds the record for the fastest fifty .

In this historic match , Yuvraj Singh also hit six sixes in one over . Abhishek Sharma became India’s second – highest T20 run-scorer in a single year, amassing 1,602 runs that year . Virat Kohli fell 13 runs short of the historic record set in March 2016 . Kohli scored 1 , 614 runs that year , which still stands as the highest T20 run-scorer by an Indian batsman in a single year . Sanju Samson reached 1 , 000 T20 International runs in 679 balls , equaling Hardik Pandya for the fastest run-scorer in terms of balls for India . Tilak Varma reached the milestone in a T20 International against South Africa . He broke Rohit Sharma’s record in 2019 . He also topped the list with 496 runs in just 10 innings .Previously, this record was held by Rohit Sharma. Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav also lagged behind Tilak Varma in this regard.
In the 16.1st over, Jasprit Bumrah dismissed Moko Yanson . This wicket came thanks to a brilliant review . Sanju Samson persuaded Suryakumar Yadav to take the review , and he got the full credit for it . Bumrah’s slow delivery dipped outside offstep . Yanson went for a drive , but the ball took a slight edge. Samson , behind the stumps , took a low catch .
