During a police operation in Srirampur, a large quantity of ganja (cannabis) was seized. A total of 35 packets of ganja were found hidden in a secret compartment of a truck. Four individuals were involved in this illegal activity. The operation was carried out at night by a team from the Gossaigaon Srirampur Sub-division Police, including Monturam Borah and Officer-in-Charge Jyotirmoy Das.The vehicle used was a truck with registration number NL-01-AK-3529. Upon searching the vehicle, various types of narcotic substances were discovered. It was revealed that the contraband was being transported from Silchar toward Haryana when it was intercepted.The four arrested individuals were identified as Sonelal Kumar, Sonu Kumar, and Sandeep Kumar (residents of Muzaffarpur, Bihar).Modo Das (a resident of Rajasthan).The suspects confessed to their crimes before the police. Approximately 4 quintals and 32 kilograms (432 kg) of ganja were recovered from the truck, with an estimated market value of nearly ₹50 lakh.
