Farmers’ Important Contribution to Bihar’s Progress : Dr. Prem Kumar : Farmers have always played a crucial role in Bihar’s development machinery. To strengthen this contribution, the state and central governments are implementing new schemes. Bihar Assembly Speaker Dr. Prem Kumar concluded a two-day agricultural festival at the sports ground complex of the Block Agriculture Office. He shared various government schemes with the farmers present. Dr. Kumar stated that the Kisan Credit Card validity period has been increased to ₹5 lakh to strengthen their economic situation. He stated that this will greatly help in adopting modern farming techniques. Dr. Prem Kumar informed that under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Yojana, ₹180 crore will be transferred to the accounts of 39,000 farmers in Gaya district in three installments. Dr. Kumar informed that a total of 90 stalls were set up at the Krishi Yatra Mela this year. The District Agriculture Officer handed out acceptance letters to 10,680 farmers for the distribution of agricultural equipment. Finally, the Assembly Speaker honored several officials.
